Nose-discolouration Problem

Q:

Help! Ronnie, my 6-year-old Golden Retriever's nose has changed from black to pinkish brown. Is Ronnie suffering from a disease? He seems rather restless at times.

A:

Dudley nose: faded pigmentation in nose colour from black to pinkish brown. Dudley nose is not a disease. This symptom is natural for light-coated breeds such as your Golden Retriever. If Ronnie is often restless, you probably have to evaluate the symptom. As Ronnie's age is almost a senior dog's age group, the reason for his restlessness could be a downgrade of his activity level due to his age. Other possible reasons could be deterioration in joints, endocrine disorder or other health problems.
